Durable and adaptable, Yuejing Acrylic Aquarium’ expansive selection of clear and colored acrylic sheets have roughly 17 times the impact resistance of glass. Easily machinable, they can be hand, flame, or machine polished, bond well, have a shiny glass-like appearance, are suitable for printing, and cost-effective vs. glass or polycarbonate. Clear, black, white, bullet-resistant, mirrored, non-glare, matte finish, UV filtering, or sandblasted (frosted) acrylic sheets are available.
Acrylic sheets, also referred to as “plexiglass” or “Plexiglas”, are often used as an alternative to glass sheeting. Plexiglass sheets offer similar transparency to glass, but they are more durable and relatively shatter-proof.
Acrylic sheeting can be used to replace window panes, protect surfaces or even hold items as shelving. Since plexiglass is typically sold in predetermined sizes, consider everything you can use this material for and then purchase the amount you need. You can always have the sheets cut to size.
What is an Acrylic Extruded Sheet?
More impact resistant than and half the weight of glass, extruded acrylic sheets are a strong, economical solution. Principle applications include signage, spas, skylights, and glazing. Extrusion manufacturing accounts for less variation in thickness. Extrusion makes plexiglass sheets easier to form and shape. Due to greater flexibility compared to glass, acrylic is a safer application where safety is an issue.
What is an Acrylic Cast Clear Sheet?
Cast acrylic sheets are lightweight, available in a variety of colors and thicknesses, and features greater thermal stability than in extruded form. Of the two, cast acrylic has greater optical clarity. It is slightly harder overall in this form versus extrusion. When engraved, cast acrylic results in a frosted appearance, as opposed to clear engraving on extruded sheets. Common applications for cast acrylic include Point-Of-Purchase (POP) and store displays, skylights, furniture, picture frames, products for the aerospace industry, and because of its greater resistance to temperature fluctuation, ice rinks.
